Tadcaster Golf Club offers an enjoyable 18 hole, 6631 yards, par 72 course and has become well established since its opening in 1990.

Tadcaster is a beautiful, 18-hole parkland golf course in the the stunning Yorkshire countryside. At 6631 yards, the course presents a fair test for golfers of all abilities, and since its opening in 1990, has a reputation as one of the best courses in the area.

  • Local Rules
    1. Out of Bounds (Rule18.2b)

    A ball is out of bounds:

    1. On or beyond any wall, fence, hedge or white Boundary Stakes bounding the course.
    2. In the Car Park, defined by an artificially surfaced area.

     

    1. Penalty Areas (Rule 17.1 applies)
    1. The ditch to the rear of the 11th green and left of 17th fairway, defined by the red posts. Rule 17.1d (3) applies
    2. All other ditches are penalty areas, defined by yellow posts. Rule 17.1d (1) and (2) apply
    3. All bridges crossing penalty areas are an integral part of the course

     

    1. No Play Zones

    Any area of GUR is a No Play Zone when encircled by a white line, and also identified with a blue stake.  Complete relief MUST be taken under 16.1f.

    1. Protection of Young Trees

    Young trees identified by stakes are No Play Zones.  If the player’s ball lies on the course other than in a penalty area, and it lies or touches such a tree or such tree interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under 16.1f.

    1. Ground Under Repair (GUR)
    • All temporary greens are deemed GUR except when in play
    • Ground under repair is defined by any area encircled by a white line or markers and relief may be taken.
    1. Immovable Obstructions (rule 16-1 applies)
    1. Artificially surfaced paths are immovable obstructions (exception 2c above)
    2. Tee yardage signs and all course furniture are immovable obstructions
    3. Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Greens, eg. sprinkler heads. (Rule F-5)
    4. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is on the line of play, and is:
    • On or within two club-lengths of the putting green, and
    • Within two club-lengths of the ball.

    Ball Deflected by Power Line (E-11)

    If it is known or virtually certain that a player’s ball hit a power line or pole supporting a power line, during the play of holes 6th, 7th,8th or 9th, the player must replay the stroke by playing the original ball or another ball from the spot where that stroke was made (see Rule 14.6).

     

    1. Penalty Clause
    • Penalty for breach of Local Rules not covered by the Rules of Golf:
    • Matchplay: loss of Hole
    • Strokeplay: general penalty
